Up for sale, a 1976 Fender Super Reverb, freshly serviced and complete with a modern footswitch. This amp features its original quad of alnico 10" CTS speakers, pushing 40 watts of pure Fender clean tone via a pair of 6L6 power tubes. Perfect for gigging situations and an ideal recording amplifier, the amp provides pristine, muscly Fender cleans until you hit the 4-5 range on the volume dial, where a bit of tube and speaker breakup sends the amp into smooth overdrive. The Reverb is lush and deep, and the Tremolo has a nice pulse, with everything from swampy and slow to machine gun fast pulses.
The circuit is very original, with a virtually untouched preamp save for a few small electrolytic caps. All of the original CTS pots are intact, with visible date codes between the 9th and 14th weeks of '76. The transformer complement is all original, manufactured by Schumacher (Fender's primary transformer supplier in the '70s), with date codes spanning late '75 and the first weeks of 1976. The power supply has been professionally recapped with high quality Sprague Atoms. Tubes include a matched pair of Wing C Svetlana 6L6GC power tubes, along with an Electro Harmonix 5U4 rectifier and a host of modern valves in the preamp.
The original quartet of CTS alnico speakers are intact, all with clean frames, original blue foil Fender stickers on the magnets, and date stamps from the 25th week of '76. The original speaker harness is present, as is the tube chart. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with orange stripe are intact, with some corner wear and various scuffs on the edges of the enclosure. The original nickel corners, sphinx glides (feet), chassis straps, chrome tilt-back legs, and raised tail-less "Fender" logo are present.
A modern two-button footswitch is included.
