Up for sale, a 1975 Gibson J-200 Artist in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case and outfitted with an L.R. Baggs Anthem pickup. With a lower bout that's 17" in width, and a body depth of over 4 1/2", the J-200 Artist is a Norlin-era spin on the "King of the Flat-tops,” with its non-moustache rosewood bridge, multi-colored backstrip, Kluson waffleback tuners, and (most notably) a three-piece maple neck that adds additional treble chime and note attack to the J-200 formula.
This Gibson Jumbo is extremely bold, full and even-sounding, with equal presence and power afforded each string. The top offers a warm, relaxed growl emblematic of a soundboard that's had the opportunity to open up over a number of decades. The L.R. Baggs Anthem active pickup system combines Baggs’ Element pickup and internal “Tru-Mic” system with soundhole-mounted controls for optimal on-stage versatility. Weighing 5lbs 2oz, this J-200 Artist has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with bronze 12-53 strings and easy-playing action.
