Up for sale, a 1975 Fender Telecaster in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case and 100% original aside from a hand-carved bone nut and professional refret. This Tele combines the complex midrange content and punch of an ash body with the glassy snap and top end articulation of the maple fretboard. Via the original single coil pickup pair, the instrument offers plenty of tonal breadth and a distinct, vital sound in every setting on the three-way switch. Weighing 7lbs 15oz and delivering a punchy, clear quality with an aggressive, chewy twang in the bridge position, this Tele has plenty of percussive cut. The neck pickup is smooth and sparkling, with inherent warmth and clarity. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and freshly restrung with 10-46 strings, this Tele has low action and accurate intonation.
The maple neck has a substantial U-shaped profile carve with full shoulders, measuring .875" deep at the 1st fret and .910" at the 12th. The guitar has been refretted with medium jumbo fretwire, and the new frets are flawless with perfectly rounded crowns, offering easy playability in every register up the 25 1/2" scale. The neck is straight with a responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod, and a new hand-carved bone nut has been fitted, measuring 1 5/8" in width. The headstock face is deeply ambered, retaining its block logo, and the original Fender "F" tuners are intact, turn smoothly, and hold pitch as they should. The neck heel and pocket retain their factory stamps, and the neck heel dates to 1975.
The electronics are all original, with the stock pickup pair, untouched solder joints, and Stackpole pots which date to the 41st week of '74. All of the original hardware is intact including the control plate, bridge, knurled knobs, and four-bolt F neck plate, all of which have gleaming chrome plating.
The Olympic White finish is 100% original with tight horizontal checking, and more prominent, broader vertical checking, deeply yellowed to varying shades of "toasted marshmallow." The gloss is perfectly smooth, yet exhibits some areas along the perimeter and lower bout on the back where a previous hardshell case's plush case lining fused with the finish and is still present. All excess “fuzz” has been wet sanded from the Olympic White gloss. Wear is otherwise limited to some scattered minor dings and light finish scratches. There are some shallow chips and minor marks on the neck profile, all worn relatively smooth from contact with the palm, along with wear through the gloss on the fretboard edges.
A brand new Fender molded hardshell case is included.
