Up for sale, a 1974 Fender Vibrolux Reverb in excellent condition, freshly serviced and featuring an upgraded speaker pair. With good reason, the Vibrolux is one of the most desirable Fender models for its ideal size and power, well-suited to both stage and studio applications. Offering 35 tube watts through a 12" Eminence Patriot "Texas Heat" and a 10" Warehouse Veteran, the Vibrolux is the perfect platform for getting the most out of a variety of guitars and stompboxes.

This speaker pair offers a broader tonal range than the stock 2x10 configuration, with richer bass response and more midrange punch. The Eminence Patriot has a warm, fat tone and "truckloads of mix-cutting bite," while the Warehouse Veteran has touch-sensitive cleans with warm overtones and crunchy cone breakup when pushed.

All of the transformers are manufactured by Fender's primary transformer supplier in this era, Schumacher, dating from 1973-74. Fully serviced, all pots, switches, jacks and tube sockets have been thoroughly cleaned, and the amp boasts a professional recap of the power supply (F&Ts), with smaller modern Sprague electrolytic caps in the preamp. The preamp retains all of the original blue molded caps (save for one modern Sprague Orange Drop), and all of the original CTS pots are intact, with visible date codes from the 41st week of '74. The tube complement includes a properly biased pair of Mesa 5881 (6L6) power tubes, with a 5U4 rectifier and modern valves in the preamp

The original glued-in baffle has been replaced with a solid, more resonant screw-mounted style like the Black Panel amps of the '60s. The new baffle mounting also provides further flexibility for different speaker combinations. The tube chart is intact inside the cabinet as well.

The original smooth black tolex is present, while the new baffle has vintage-correct silver sparkle grillcloth with a blue stripe. The faceplate retains its full complement of witch hat knobs, and stock hardware includes the handle caps and corners, while the sphinx glides (feet) are modern replacements.
