Up for sale, a 1973 Greco SG-600 in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This “lawsuit era” Greco, crafted at the Fujigen factory, faithfully captures the finer points of Gibson's SG Standard model, with tonewoods including a mahogany body, one-piece mahogany neck, and an ebony fretboard. And further aligning with Gibson's early Norlin-era production circa 1971-72, this SG features unique Greco-embossed chrome humbucker covers, mirroring a brief Gibson practice.
Naturally warm and resonant with a rich midrange bark and glassy treble cut, the stock pair of Maxon U-1000 humbuckers translate the guitar's acoustic properties faithfully. Wound in the vein of a PAF and measuring in the upper-7k ohms range, these pickups are dynamic, articulate, and very well-balanced. There’s plenty of bite and chime in the top end, with a smooth midrange and growl in the bass register. This SG-600 weighs 7lbs 14oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
