Up for sale, a 1973 Gibson Les Paul Custom in perfect working order, loaded with a pair of '80s Tim Shaw PAFs. Honestly played and free of any cracks, this Les Paul Custom has been outfitted with modern, vintage-spec hardware and plastics.

Tonewoods include a “sandwich” mahogany body, carved three-piece maple top, three-piece mahogany neck, and bound ebony fretboard, weighing 9lbs 14oz. The pair of late ‘80s Gibson "Tim Shaw" PAF humbuckers are a great compliment to this instrument's natural note detail and sustain, and these pickups were Gibson's first stab at reverse engineering the vital, complex tonal properties of the PAF. Designed with unoriented, rough cast Alnico V magnets, plastic spacers, and poly-coated wire to achieve the tonal clarity and harmonic richness of the original PAF design, with focused growl at the bridge and smooth breadth at the neck. This Les Paul Custom has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The original gloss Cherry Sunburst finish is bright and vibrant, and there is one small touched-up ding on top (beneath where the pickguard mounting bracket would sit). The Nashville bridge inserts have also been doweled and redrilled. The back has prominent buckle rash, some small, scattered nicks on the top and rims, and one area of pick wear through the gloss between the bridge and knobs. The neck profile also exhibits some natural palm wear and shallow marks on the profile length.

A vintage Gibson-branded black tolex hardshell case is included.
