Up for sale, a 1973 Fender Jazz Bass in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, hangtags, manual and strap. A quintessential example of an early ‘70s Jazz Bass, this bass features a bound maple fingerboard with block inlays and a block logo on the headstock.
Weighing 9lbs 10oz and well-balanced on a strap, this Jazz Bass is an alder-bodied example. Offering smooth sustain and a detailed, punchy quality, the maple fretboard delivers enhanced note attack and more upper midrange accentuation, particularly from the bridge pickup. The original pair of black bobbin pickups feature enamel coated wire, Alnico V magnets, and are shellac-potted, yielding the distinctive growl, burp and sweetness. This Jazz Bass has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with fresh 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.
