Up for sale, a circa 1972 Hohner "Combo" Pianet N in excellent condition and in good working order. Ostensibly a transition model between the Pianet N and the Combo Pianet, this rare model features its Pianet N model designation on the serialized label, with simple "Pianet" text on the piano's face, where one would later find the Combo Pianet branding. While the main differentiating factor between the N and Combo models was whether they were designed for use with legs (the former) or meant to perch on another keyboard (the latter), this Pianet N has unique dual leg flanges on the bottom, accommodating either straight or angled legs.Recently serviced to play and sound its best, this Pianet N benefits from new hammer tips and a modern set of sticky pads so that the reeds are all plucked uniformly. The power supply has been rebuilt, and the piano has been tuned and voiced with level keys to ensure a reliable response in every capacity.A bright, sparkling electric piano tone with a distinct attack and bark, the Pianet saw use with the Zombies, the Beatles, Loving Spoonful, and a host of others. Similar to a Wurlitzer but existing in its own sonic space, this Pianet N is an ideal stage and studio tool. The key caps are bright white, and the "Hohner" and "Pianet" gold silkscreen text on the namerail is near mint. Cosmetically, the gold hammerite and wood grain exterior is quite clean, considering its construction, with modest wear on the enclosure edges and top, and a couple isolated spots where the wood veneer is chipping on the back edge. The original serialized badge is intact, noting production in Germany, and the power supply is designed to run on 117v USA power.
