Up for sale, a 1972 Fender Twin Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Loaded with the original pair of Utah-made 12" drivers and a matched quartet of JJ 6L6GC power tubes, this amp lives up to its reputation for delivering the most formidable, glassy, and balanced clean tones a tube amp can provide. Perfect not only for guitar, the Twin is an excellent choice for any scenario where headroom is a must, performing equally well with a pedal steel or your favorite Rhodes piano.

The circuit retains the original Schumacher-made output and power transformers, both of which date to '72. The choke is a vintage replacement, also made by Schumacher and dating to 1976, while the reverb transformer is a modern replacement manufactured by Hammond. The preamp has the original molded blue and brown capacitors, with some modern low noise metal film resistors (along with many of the original carbon comp resistors), and all new small electrolytic caps in the preamp and bias supply. The original CTS pots have visible date codes from the 17th week of '72. The power supply has also been professionally recapped, ensuring trouble-free performance. The tube set comprises a set of properly biased JJ 6L6 power tubes, while the preamp retains all but one of the original matched RCA-branded valves.

Inside the cabinet, the original tube chart is intact, and the pair of Utah-made 12" speakers have clean orange and silver foil Fender labels on the ceramic magnets, with clean black frames and viable cones. The stamps on the speaker frames date to the 37th week of '72.

The smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with blue stripe are well-kept, with some patina through the plating on the nickel-plated corners and handle caps. The original chrome-plated tilt-back legs are present, and the polished aluminum faceplate retains its turquoise text and full complement of witch hat knobs.

A one-button footswitch (to engage either the Reverb or Tremolo) is included.
