Up for sale, a 1971 Martin D-35 in excellent condition, complete with the original hardshell case. Weighing 4lbs 5oz, tonewoods include a Sitka spruce top, three-piece Indian rosewood back and sides, a mahogany neck, and an ebony fingerboard and bridge.
Benefitting from all the service due a Martin of this vintage, this D-35 features a professional neck reset, new tall carved bone saddle, bone nut, reinforced original rosewood bridge plate, and a new pickguard.
Unique to the D-35 among Martin's dreadnought body guitars, the instrument features lighter 1/4" bracing, as opposed to the 5/16" bracing seen on its counterpart, the D-28. This feature, combined with the D-35's three-piece back construction, produces an effortlessly lively and articulate tone. The instrument delivers tons of projection, with Martin's signature piano-like clarity and a respectable volume ceiling. This D-35 is also notably warm and punchy, with a broad low end.
