1970s Roland Space Echo RE-201 Vintage Analog Tape Delay, Clean & Serviced 120V w/ Ftsw

+ shipping

Up for sale, a 1970s Roland RE-201 Space Echo vintage analog tape delay, complete with the original footswitch. This vintage tape echo functions as intended and runs reliably, and while originally a Space Echo sold within Japan (given the Japanese text on the inside lid), the original power transformer has been modified to use its 120v USA power taps. Fully serviced, this Space Echo features cleaned and lubricated bearings, motor, capstan, and tape path, with a brand new pinch roller. All pots, switches and jacks have been sprayed out, cleaned and exercised, with calibrated trim pots for Level and Intensity.

One of the most popular and enduring tape echos of all time, the RE-201 has been used on countless stages and in studios worldwide. Everything runs exactly as it should with a low noise floor and lush, detailed repeats.

The faceplate is extremely clean, and all of the original knobs are intact with aluminum skirts. The latches, 1/4" jacks and power cable door exhibit some surface patina, while the chrome-plated hinges are bright and clean. The original black tolex is particularly well-kept.

The original one-button footswitch is included.
