Up for sale, a 1974 Musitronics Mu-Tron Phasor in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Musitronics (Mu-Tron) was founded by Mike Beigel and Aaron Newman, with the goal of providing studio-grade effects derived from synthesizer components. An iconic sound of the ‘70s, the glassy swirls of the Mu-Tron Phasor can be heard on scores of recordings throughout the decade. This particular Phasor, the original iteration, was crafted in the first year of official production, featuring streamlined controls and black knobs.
The core of the Phasor is an operational transconductance amplifier (OTA), a new (at the time) circuit which enabled an expanded dynamic range for complex, clean phasing never truly achieved via the FET circuits favored at the time. The simple, user-friendly controls include Depth (L/M/H) and Speed knobs, and the CTS pot dates to the 20th week of 1974.
Cosmetic wear limited to a few minor marks on the enclosure. The original knobs are present, and the graphics are practically pristine.
