Up for sale, a 1970's Mosrite Minister electric guitar in excellent condition and in perfect working order. A very rare semi-official Mosrite model, the Minister has a unique history, crafted in Japan at the Maruyama Teisco factory. After the expiration of Semie Moseley's agreement with the Firstman company in Japan to produce officially licensed Mosrite models, the remainder of Firstman's Mosrite stock was sold to Maruyama Teisco, which produced this model based on Mosrite's Ventures Model. The single coil pickups have oversized housings yet modest output, metering at 5k ohms with plenty of treble snap, percussive cut, and smooth low end. The Minister weighs 7lbs 11oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation. The three-piece neck has a moderately chunky and round C-shaped profile carve, measuring .860" deep at the 1st fret and .899 at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard retains the original slender fretwire which is in remarkable shape, showing just a touch of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3. The guitar plays easily up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck and responsive truss rod, and the fretboard measures 1 5/8" wide at the zero fret just forward of the aluminum nut. The headstock features the Mosrite "M" and "Minister" text oriented vertically, and the original sealed chrome tuners with etched gear housings are intact. All of the electronics work as intended, and the hardware includes a pair of smooth chrome knobs, Japan-stamped neck plate, Jazzmaster-style vibrato unit, and upgraded modern bridge with saddles that provide a smooth, reliable response for the vibrato. Plastics include the original Mosrite-branded pickup covers, pickup rings, and a custom-cut red tortoise pickguard. The body features prominent German Carve, and cosmetic wear on the Sunburst gloss is limited to some small scattered dings and light finish scratches on the body as a whole, mostly relegated to the back and body perimeter.A gigbag is included.
