Up for sale, a 1970s Guyatone Zoom Box Distortion PS-102 effects pedal in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced in Japan in the late 1970s and rarely seen outside its country of origin, the PS-102 takes its cues from the classic MXR Distortion Plus, with an old school metal can op amp in the circuit and a pronounced midrange character. With only two knobs, the pedal offers a surprising variety of sounds. With the Distortion turned all the way down, the pedal works well as a clean boost, utilizing the Output knob to set the level. With a light amount of Distortion applied, the pedal has a very dynamic response, with a defined, transparent signal remaining intact, simultaneously accompanied by an underlying layer of gritty dirt. With the Distortion knob maxed, the pedal has a fizzy saturation with near endless sustain, a rich midrange, and loads of harmonic content and cut.This pedal has a number of minor chips and wear on the red enclosure, with original knobs and legible graphics.
