Up for sale, a 1970's Giannini CraViola model 12S vintage 12 string acoustic electric guitar in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original form-fit case. One of the rarest CraViola models, this 12 string features an original undersaddle pickup paired with a carved rosewood Volume knob on the upper bout. The CraViola was crafted in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and the Giannini company's roots can be traced to Tranquillo Giannini, an Italian who immigrated to Brazil in the 1890s and whose gift with woodworking eventually led to founding his eponymous company.

The CraViola features a spruce top, laminate Brazilian rosewood back and sides, and a mahogany neck capped with a rosewood fingerboard. The body shape and tonewoods accentuate the sweet, chiming nature of the 12 string design, and this Giannini delivers both clear treble cut and round, defined bass register warmth. The guitar weighs 4lbs 11oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with easy-playing action and fresh strings.

The mahogany neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with nicely rounded shoulders, measuring .845" deep at the 1st fret and .945" at the 9th. The rosewood fretboard features diamond pearl inlay and original slender frets which show only light wear on the crowns of frets 1-4, playing cleanly up the 25 1/4" scale. The nut measures 1 7/8" in width, and the slotted headstock features a rosewood veneer and original open-gear tuning machines.

The body has a large carved rosewood bridge which sits flush with the top on all edges, fitted with a compensated saddle that has good height. The undersaddle pickup is smooth and even-sounding, governed by the carved rosewood Volume knob on the upper bout. The soundhole is U-shaped, framed by intricate marquetry and a leopard tortoise pickguard. The instrument is crack-free, and cosmetic wear is limited to light pick wear across the strum path, and a few minor nicks and scuffs on the body as a whole.

The original blue form fit case is included and equally as clean as the guitar.
