Up for sale, a 1970 Martin D-18 dreadnought in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. A crack-free vintage example, this Martin has received all the necessary TLC that an acoustic of this era deserves, with a professional neck reset, tall carved bone saddle, and a refret with medium fretwire, complete with a new bone nut.
This D-18 has notable top end chime and treble brilliance, with plenty of projection on tap and a brassy growl when digging in with a flatpick. The lows are round and warm, and this D-18 is a very rewarding strummer with good string-to-string note definition and a balanced sound when traveling up the fingerboard. Weighing 4lbs 3oz, this D-18 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.

A crack-free example, the original nitro lacquer finish highlights subtle bearclaw figuring in the spruce. Cosmetic wear includes scuffing along the strum path, buckle worming across the back, and some minor marks consistent with decades of careful use. The satin on the neck profile is flawless, and a previous owner's ID number has been etched into the bass-side of the neck heel.
A black tolex hardshell case is included.
