Up for sale, a 1970 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original owner’s manual/hantag, Gibson-branded hootenanny strap and a vintage case. This Les Paul Deluxe is 100% original save for a vintage Pat # ABR-1 bridge, dating to the first/second year of Les Paul Deluxe production (while Deluxes first appear in the Gibson price list in ‘69, Gibson has no records of any shipping prior to ‘70).
This Les Paul Deluxe's mini humbuckers deliver a round sound with great definition and punch. A perfect blend of humbucker growl and single coil sparkle, the mini hum's tonal properties are enhanced by the maple/mahogany body construction, offering both wooly bark and great treble cut. The top end snaps and sparkles, while the bass register stays tight and focused, and each position on the three-way pickup selector is distinct. This Les Paul Deluxe has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Goldtop nitro lacquer finish is 100% original with no touch-up or overspray. The top presents very cleanly, with subtle broad lacquer checking and just a few tiny dings. There is light buckle rash at the bass-side waist, and some dings along the back body edge. The nigh flawless gloss on the neck profile shows some horizontal checking that presents visually but cannot be felt by the palm.
A vintage (non-original) black tolex hardshell case with red plush interior is included, with a reattached handle and clean silver Gibson silkscreen on the lid. All of the latches are functional save for the central lock. The original owner’s manual and Gibson-branded strap are included.
