Up for sale, a 1970 Fender Twin Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a modern two-button footswitch.  A very original and professionally serviced example, this Twin is an early Silverface example retaining non-Master Volume AB763 circuitry and the screw-in baffle of its Black Panel predecessor.

This Twin delivers warm, articulate cleans with ample bass response, a wide-ranging and responsive EQ, and present, sparkling Fender top end. When it comes to the quintessential Fender amp for clarity, headroom, and the balanced, authoritative response of a four 6L6 driven tube amp, it's hard to beat the Twin. The tube-driven Reverb effect has incredible depth and splash, and the Tremolo has a strong pulse with a wide range of speeds. It's as iconic a design as Leo Fender ever created, also very well-suited to amplifying pedal steel or electric piano in the vein of a Wurlitzer or Fender Rhodes.

The circuit retains the original Schumacher-made output and power transformers, as well as the choke, all of which have dates spanning late 1969 and the first weeks of '70. The reverb transformer is a vintage replacement, dating to '74. The original CTS pots have visible date codes from the 32nd week of '69. The preamp features modern premium Sprague Orange Drop signal caps, as well as smaller Sprague electrolytics. The power supply has been professionally recapped with Sprague Atoms, and a three-prong power cable has also been installed. The power tubes are a quad of properly biased JJ 6L6GCs, and the preamp tubes are all modern valves as well from the likes of JJ and Groove Tubes.

The speakers are a vintage matched pair of Fender-branded Utahs with clean black frames, dating a few years later than the amp, with stamps from the 46th week of '74. The tube chart is mostly intact inside the cabinet as well.

The original black tolex is particularly clean, with very little wear on the edges of the enclosure. The silver sparkle grillcloth with aged blue stripe has been replaced, and while the stripes usually are oriented horizontally, the stripes on this cloth have been installed vertically. The faceplate is notably well-kept, retaining a full complement of original witch hat knobs. All of the original hardware is present and shows modest surface patina, including the chrome tilt-back legs, nickel corners, sphinx glides, handle, and raised Fender logo on the amp's face.

A modern two-button footswitch to engage the Reverb and Tremolo effects is included.
