Up for sale, a 1970 Fender Princeton Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original two-button footswitch and all of the original RCA preamp tubes. Extremely original and quite clean cosmetically, the Princeton Reverb is the perfect amplifier for small club gigs and studio sessions. This Silverface era amp delivers both well-balanced, sparkling cleans and smooth, harmonic-rich overdrive when you dime it out. The Reverb is extremely lush and the Tremolo has a nice pulse with a wide range of speeds.
The circuit retains all of the original transformers, manufactured for Fender by Schumacher, dating between the 11th and 38th weeks of '70. The circuit is 100% original save for one new bias capacitor to properly regulate the voltage going to the tubes. All of the original pots are intact, with visible date codes from the 39th week of '70. The tubes include four matched original RCA-branded valves in the preamp, with a pair of brand new and properly biased Electro Harmonix 6V6 power tubes and a Groove Tubes 5U4 rectifier.
The speaker is an era-correct Oxford 10J4, professionally reconed and retaining the original blue foil Fender sticker on the magnet. The sticker on the edge of the frame dates the speaker to the 33rd week of '70. The tube chart is also intact inside the cabinet.
As the photos show, the original black tolex is very clean with minor wear on the corners, and the original silver sparkle grillcloth with blue stripe shows limited aging with plenty of sparkle left in the thread. All of the original hardware is intact, including the handle caps, chassis straps, and sphinx glides (feet).
The original two-button footswitch is included.
