Up for sale, a 1970 Fender Dual Showman Reverb in collector-grade, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original Victoria Luggage head cover and footswitch. The preservation of this Siverface era Fender amp is astounding, and the Dual Showman Reverb is one of the most visually imposing and sonically impressive amps ever produced by Fender. A top of the line model prizing pristine clean headroom, the Dual Showman pushes 100 all-tube watts via a quad of 6L6 power tubes and a pair of JBL D130F 15" speakers. The two channel design matches the earlier Black Panel era Showman amps, with the notable addition of Fender's tube-driven Reverb circuit, ensuring plenty of dimension and surfy splash. The onboard Tremolo has a strong pulse, and both effects can be engaged via the included original two-button footswitch. The circuit is 100% original and untouched, right down to the bias cap and original filter caps in the power supply which are still viable. Visible codes on the CTS pots date to the 24th week of 1969, while the codes on the original Schumacher-made transformers span 1969-70. The tube chart is intact inside the head cabinet, and the back of the speaker cabinet retains the metal "Dual Showman D130" badge. The tube complement includes a matched quad of Sovtek 6L6s, with a bevy of Realistic-branded USA-made valves in the preamp. The speaker cabinet retains the original pair of JBL D130F speakers which have absolutely pristine frames and original cones. Fender's most efficient and powerful speaker of the '60s, the D130's "F" suffix denotes a speaker specifically engineered for Fender amps, with a larger voice coil gap than JBL's hi-fi specific offerings. These speakers have incredible detail and headroom, perfectly replicating the glassy cleans and bass register muscle of the Dual Showman circuitry (also making this amp an ideal choice for bass, ostensibly with the Reverb turned down).Cosmetically, you'd be hard-pressed to find a cleaner Dual Showman. The smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcoth with turquoise stripe is impressively preserved, save for some minor staining on the cabinet grill. The head and cab retain their raised Fender logos, and the cab has its JBL badge. The faceplate has clean turquoise text and its full complement of witch hat knobs. The original Victoria Luggage black slip cover with "Dual Showman Reverb" silkscreen text is included, along with the black two-button footswitch.
