Up for sale, a circa 1969 Mosrite Ventures Model in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. A continuation of the Ventures Model legacy, this guitar follows the stylings of the 1960s USA-made Mosrites, but was produced in Japan in the '70s as a result of an agreement between Semie Moseley and the Firstman company. It effectively captures the finer points of classic Mosrite design with a Moseley vibrato tailpiece, “Mosrite”-stamped pickup covers, smooth knobs, and German Carve on the basswood body. This is an early example, produced circa 1969, as indicated by the “FM”-prefix serial stamp.
The stock pair of single coil pickups are snappy and sparkling, wound on the hotter end of the Mosrite spectrum, delivering a bold, distinct sound in every pickup position. Metering at ~12.6k ohms, these pickups are articulate and lively, with an authoritative treble zing that’s quintessential Mosrite; the neck is fat and broad, while the bridge has a chewier, snappy quality. Weighing 8lbs 4oz, this Ventures Model has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
