Up for sale, a 1969 Marshall 1960A 4x12 speaker cabinet in perfect working order, loaded with the original matched quartet of T1221 Celestion G12M 25-watt Greenbacks, all with original 75Hz Pulsonic cones. This rare, iconic cabinet, which defined much of the ‘70s rock sound, is 100% original save for one replaced speaker dust cap.The stock T1221 Greenbacks are considered by many to be the finest rock speaker ever created, delivering classic “woody” tones with a robust, harmonically complex midrange and 75Hz bass resonance that played a critical role in the sounds of artists like Eddie Van Halen and Angus Young. The speakers are exceedingly clean, retaining their original Pulsonic cones, which have no repairs, and no detectable coil rub or cone cry. All speakers also retain their 102 003 Pulsonic stamps on the inside edge of the cones. The frames show sparingly little wear,  with “CB31” date stamps from 1969.The cabinet retains its original black levant tolex, gold piping, and basketweave grillcloth. A number of small tolex tears have been glued, the tolex is missing from the bottom of the cabinet, and there are a couple additional bald corners and spots of wear on top. The cabinet has fared far better than most from this era, where the levant tolex was much more prone to wear than later iterations, and the original metal handles are intact.
