Up for sale, a 1969 Gibson SG Custom in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This extremely well-kept SG features a gloss Walnut nitro lacquer finish, the original trio of Pat # T Top humbuckers, and a long frame Maestro Vibrola. This particular instrument comes from the personal collection of Slipknot’s Jim Root, aka #4.
The tonewood complement comprises solid mahogany neck and body construction, offering a rich natural acoustic response with a wooly warmth balanced by the excellent treble articulation of the ebony fingerboard. The trio of T Top humbuckers deliver lively, vital sounds at each position on the three-way pickup selector switch, with a chiming, dynamic treble bite, midrange-rich growl, and low end that is fat yet clear. The neck pickup is particularly full and girthy, and the middle and bridge pickups have a more concentrated upper-midrange punch. This SG Custom weighs 8lbs 4oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The gloss Walnut nitro lacquer finish exhibits subtle horizontal checking, and cosmetic wear is limited to a very small spot of light buckle rash on the treble-side lower bout, and a few minor dings and light finish scratches on the body as a whole, largely clustered on the back lower bout body edge. The gloss on the neck profile is extremely smooth.
The original black tolex hardshell case with gold plush interior is included.
