Up for sale, a 1969 Fender Telecaster Thinline in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. This rare and collectable first version of the classic "Thinline" model was only made from late 1968-mid 1971, and this particular example features an ash body (with alder and mahogany also offered).
Lightweight at 7lbs 3oz and extremely resonant acoustically, this Tele Thinline has a clear and powerful tone with a percussive cut and twang that will satisfy the most discerning Nashville pickers. The era-correct pickup pair produces an array of classic Fender tones, with the clarity, snap and twang expected in the bridge position, and a bit of extra roundness and kick from the semi-hollow ash construction. The neck pickup is girthy and plucky sounding, perfect for lead work and chording without losing clarity. This Telecaster Thinline benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with low action, accurate intonation and fresh 10-46 strings.

With original hardware and plastics throughout, this Telecaster has been outfitted with a genuine pair of vintage Telecaster pickups (gray bobbin bridge, black bobbin neck). These pickups were sourced as a pair, and the stamp on the bridge pickup bobbin dates to '74.
The original Natural finish exhibits some ambering of the clear coat, with both prominent grain and distinctive figuring across the cut. There is a repaired split extending from the lower edge of the F hole on top, cleanly addressed and smooth to the touch. Just beyond the edge of the white pearled guard, there's also one small extra cleanly doweled pickguard mounting hole (near the knobs on the bass side), and the markings "0WJ” have been scratched into the back (shallow, but visible). Wear is otherwise limited to a few small dings and finish scratches. The neck profile is smooth to the touch with a few shallow chips in the lower register that have been buffed smooth.
A circa 1990s Fender-branded tweed hardshell case is included.
