Up for sale, a 1969 Fender Stratocaster in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Produced very early in ‘69 (January neck heel stamp), the feature set of this Strat aligns firmly with 1968 including gray bobbin pickups with push-back cloth-covered leads, 1966-dated pots with untouched solder joints on the gray bobbin pickups, and a single string tree on the headstock.

The guitar has a very lively natural acoustic tone, with a smoothness and treble detail that translates well through the pickups. The gray bobbin single coils offer a distinct, vital sound in every position on the three-way switch: the bridge pickup is pure spank with a chewy, midrange-forward vitality, the neck pickup is silky and bell-like with a woody cut, and cheating the "in between" positions on the three-way pickup selector switch yields quintessential scooped Strat quack. This Stratocaster weighs 8lbs 3oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Sunburst finish is 100% original with no touch-up or overspray, and the central red band on the three-tone burst is subtly diffused, particularly at the upper bout. There’s an area of buckle wear on the back, a sliver of wear at the arm contour, a few small finish chips along the perimeter, and some light finish scratches and nicks from careful use.

The original frets do show considerable wear, yet play cleanly in all registers. The gloss on the neck profile is smooth and very clean.

The original black tolex hardshell case is included. The case features clean black leather ends, functional latches and the original handle.
