1969 Fender Bassman Drip Edge Tube Amp Head AB165 & VT 2x15 Cabinet w/ Vintage Tube Set

$2,299.99

Up for sale, a 1969 Fender Bassman head and tall V.T. Bassman 2x15 cabinet, freshly serviced and extremely original with a full vintage tube set. This transitional Fender amp has a Silverface faceplate with "drip edge" aluminum trim. The perfect platform for players who use a variety of pedals, the Bassman delivers a robust and dynamic clean tone that offers both sparkle and muscle. Beyond around 5 on the Volume dial, the amp starts to push into smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive.

The circuit is 100% original save for a one Sprague Orange Drop capacitor, and the Schumacher transformers date between mid-1968 and early '69. The power supply retains the original (still viable) Mallory capacitors, and the original two-prong power cable is intact (a modern three-prong can be installed at no additional cost). The tube complement includes a pair of Fender-branded RCA 6L6GC power tubes and matched RCA preamp tubes. The original tube chart is also present inside the head cabinet, noting the AB165 circuit.

The speaker cabinet is loaded with the original pair of Eminence alnico magnet speakers. These 15" drivers have original cones and aluminum dust caps, silver frames and date stamps from the 16th week of '69.

The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with turquoise stripe are intact, with the "drip edge" aluminum trim framing the baffles. The stock corners, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), and piggyback clip bars are all intact.
