Up for sale, a 1968 Fender Vibro Champ in near-mint condition with transitional cosmetic features, retaining the original RCA and Telefunken-branded tube set. One of the first Silverface-era Fender amps produced, this Vibro Champ features "Drip Edge, Black Line" cosmetics, with aluminum trim framing the grillcloth and slender vertical black lines on the faceplate. Under the hood the circuit is identical to Fender's Black Panel amps of just a few months prior, and the Vibro Champ's five watt Class A circuit delivers clear, chiming cleans and raucous, sizzling drive with a twist of the Volume knob. The Vibrato has a nice pulse and chop too, and this amp is a studio and apartment-friendly combo that delivers a dynamic, sparkling vintage Fender sound.

The circuit is untouched save for a single new capacitor, with original Schumacher-made transformers that date to the 27th week of 1966 (output) and 40th week of 1967 (power). The original CTS pots are present, the multi-section can cap power supply is still viable, and a three-prong power cable has been installed. The tubes include the original RCA-branded 5Y3 rectifier and 6V6 power tube, with original preamp tubes manufactured by Telefunken.

The speaker is a vintage alnico magnet 8" driver which retains its original cone and Fender foil sticker on the magnet. The tube chart is also intact inside the cabinet.

The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with turquoise stripe are exceedingly clean, and the grill features both the transitional aluminum trim and small tail-less Fender logo only seen on the very first Drip Edge amps. All of the stock hardware is present including the chassis straps, handle caps, and sphinx glides (feet).
