Up for sale, a 1968 Fender Telecaster, outfitted with a Gibson T Top humbucker and complete with the original hardshell case. Channeling Keith Richard’s Micawber, this vintage Tele has tons of hard-earned genuine playwear, with traditional tonewood comprising an ash body and a maple neck with a maple cap fretboard.
Delivering plenty of punch, cut and bark, this Telecaster can be both mean and mellow. The original gray bobbin bridge pickup has staggered alnico poles, dishing out plenty of chewy twang and sparkle. Paired with the humbucker in the middle position on the three-way switch, the sound is bold and hi-fi, with the meat of the humbucker and the detail of the single coil. Soloing the T Top in the neck position yields plenty of meat for lead work, with a bell-like top end that ensures clarity for complex chording.
