Up for sale, a 1967 Vox V264 Delta IV Bass in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. This very rare and unique Vox model was crafted in Recanati, Italy by the Eko company for just a couple short years in the late ‘60s, delivering quintessential psychedelic cool with the distinctive Phantom-style pentagonal body, two high-output Ferro-Sonic single coil pickups, and a suite of onboard effects including a battery operated Distortion (Fuzz) circuit and Treble/Bass Boost.
Weighing 8lbs 9oz, the bass features a five-piece maple/walnut neck and an ebony fingerboard. The pair of Vox Ferro-Sonic single coils were “designed for wide range high fidelity,” delivering plenty of sparkle and articulation balanced by a notably full, warm lower-midrange cut, particularly with the neck pickup engaged. Naturally, there are an array of tones available through the onboard effects. The Treble/Bass Boost has a very wide sweep, functioning as a low-pass filter when rolled off and a high-pass filter when dialed up, boosting the selected frequency range. The Distortion circuit is powered by a pair of BC108 silicon transistors, ideal for rich growl, attack-heavy grind and fuzzed-out Shoegaze textures. What may have initially been a gimmick is a highly usable tool, and the Distortion/Fuzz circuit is pushed to its limit with the Boost layered on top. This V264 Delta IV Bass has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 flatwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean with a few shallow marks.
