Up for sale, a 1967 Vox Beatle V1143 vintage solid state amplifier head and matching model V4141 4x12 speaker cabinet (complete with chrome trolley) in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original footswitch. The cabinet is loaded with a practically pristine quad of Celestion Silver Bell T1656 alnico magnet speakers, all with their original Pulsonic cones. Freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this visually (and sonically) commanding Vox was produced by Vox's USA distributor in the '60s, Thomas Organ.

This Vox Beatle, model V1143, is the last iteration of the Beatle/Super Beatle model, with all the features of the previous versions along with a few extras. This circuit has been well maintained, with splashy spring reverb, "machine gun" square wave tremolo, and two channels with individual Volume, Bass, and Treble controls in addition to a third bass specific channel.

These heads do have a very cool clean sound, with a twang, chime, and percussive tone that sounds decidedly vintage, yet within the realm of the solid state circuits that Thomas Organ was pioneering in the USA, as the stateside distributor of Vox product. The tremolo is exclusive to the first channel, while the reverb effect can be assigned to either channel one or two and has its own dedicated blend knob as well. A rotary tone switch labeled "MRB" boosts specific frequencies for the second channel at either 450, 600, or 750 hz, depending on the setting. The amp connects to a speaker cabinet via a three-pin XLR connector.

Ths speaker cabinet retains its highly valuable quartet of Celestion Silver Bell T1656 alnico magnet speakers. These speakers have extremely clean frames, with flawless original Pulsonic cones and Vox stickers on the magnet covers. The pair of Goodmans Midaxe horns are also present, with new wiring between the speakers and horns. The 12/7/67 date stamp is present inside the cabinet, and there is a repair in the lower left right corner of the pressboard cabinet.

The trapezoidal head cabinet and imposing speaker cabinet retain their original black tolex and diamond lattice grillcloth, with raised Vox logos (including the fragile and "Solid State" badge on the head), one-pin corners, plastic vents and molded handle. All of the original chrome-plated metal knurled knobs are intact, and the faceplate is well-kept. The serialized Vox model badge is intact on the back of the head. The cabinet and head show some edge wear, with some reglued tears in the tolex, particularly on the cabinet.

The original three-button footswitch is included.
