Up for sale, a 1967 Supro Model 24 combo amplifier in excellent condition and in perfect working order, freshly serviced and loaded with a complete vintage tube set. This rare vintage tube amp was made in the USA by Valco, the parent company of Supro which also produced amps under the National, Oahu, and Gretsch banners, among others. Lightly compressed and focused with a touch-sensitive overdrive that's sonically distinct, this amp’s unique tonal profile is largely defined by its use of two 6973 power tubes, pushing roughly 18 watts through a Weber 12” alnico magnet speaker.
The dual channels each sport Volume and Tone controls, with two inputs independently voiced for Bass and Treble, as well as a shared tremolo circuit governed by a pair of Speed and Intensity knobs. The circuit has been freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, retaining both of the original Triwec transformers, dating to the 2nd and 6th weeks of 1967. The original CTS pots are present, with visible date codes from 1967, and a modern three-prong power cable has been installed. The tube set includes all vintage valves with a pair of 6973 power tubes, an RCA 5Y3GT rectifier and RCA 12AX7s in the preamp. The speaker is a replacement Weber 12” alnico magnet driver.
Cosmetically, there are just a few minor marks on the original black tolex, and the silver sparkle grillcloth is pristine. The faceplate is clean with crisp graphics and the original complement of knobs, and the raised “Supro” logo is present.
