Up for sale, a 1967 Gibson ES-335 TD in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. Recently refinished in Pelham Blue nitro lacquer by Riggio Custom Guitars, this vintage ES-335 is loaded with a set of Gibson's T-Top Patent # humbuckers.

An extremely lively-sounding vintage Gibson, traditional tonewoods include a semi-hollow maple body, one-piece mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard. The pickups are a pair of Gibson's Patent # T-Top humbuckers, both with original windings and untouched solder joints on the chrome covers. The bridge pickup delivers a sparkling cut in the top end, with a touch of midrange-centric growl and plenty of spank and presence. The neck pickup is round and warm with a nice punchy quality, great for bold lead work and clear chording. This ES-335 weighs 8lbs, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action and accurate intonation.

The one-piece mahogany neck has a medium C shape at the nut, fast-feeling with moderate shoulders and a gentle increase in overall heft up the fretboard, measuring .840" deep at the 1st fret and .999" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard has small block inlay, refretted with vintage-spec medium jumbo fretwire which shows no wear. The guitar plays cleanly in every register up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The original nut measures 1 9/16" in width. The headstock retains its original bell truss rod cover, fitted with a set of modern, vintage-spec double line, double ring Kluson Deluxe tuning machines.

All of the electronics work as they should, and both humbuckers have untouched solder on the covers and patent # waterslide decals on the baseplates. The pickups meter a 7.65k ohms in the bridge position, and 7.3k at the neck. The original wiring harness is present, with Sprague Black Beauty tone caps and CTS pots which date to '67. The pickup covers have bright chrome plating, paired with a (vintage, yet not original to the guitar) patent number ABR-1 Tune-o-Matic bridge. Converted from a previous trapeze design, this guitar has been fitted with a stopbar tailpiece. Plastics include the original narrow bevel four-ply pickguard and M-69 pickup rings, with a modern set of black reflector cap knobs. The orange oval Gibson Kalamazoo, MI label is intact inside the body.

The nitro lacquer gloss Pelham Blue custom color finish was recently executed by Riggio Custom Guitars, surgically accurate to vintage spec with subtle greening of the clear coat. The guitar exhibits only some light, simulated aging from Riggio including broad lacquer checking, faux buckle rash, some minor marks, and a neck profile that's a truer shade of Pelham, replicating the way a palm wears through an aged clear coat to reveal an un-aged color coat.

A circa 1980s black tolex Gibson hardshell case with red plush interior is included. The case features the original handle and functional latches.
