1967 Gibson EB-3 Vintage Electric Bass Guitar SG Cherry w/ Case

Up for sale, a 1967 Gibson EB-3 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This vintage Gibson bass has a rich and soulful sound with solid mahogany construction and the original bold gloss Cherry nitro lacquer finish. The neck position Mudbucker is, as the name would suggest, particularly thick and full with ample low end heft and a wooly character, while the bridge position mini humbucker provides a more lively sound, accentuating the midrange growl inherent in the mahogany construction. The bass weighs a mere 8lbs 4oz, strung with 45-105 roundwound strings and professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with comfortable action and spot-on intonation.The mahogany neck has a U profile carve with generous shoulder in every register and significant depth and chunk as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .850" deep at the 1st fret and 1.040" at the 12th. The dark rosewood fretboard retains the original wide/flat Gibson fretwire which has plenty of meat, showing virtually no wear and playing easily up the 30 1/2" scale. The neck is straight, and the truss rod is responsive and optimally adjusted. The nut measures 1 9/16" in width, and the headstock retains the original truss rod cover and chrome clover button tuning machinesThe electronics all work as intended, with original pickups, rotary pickup selector circuit, and original CTS pots. All of the original plastic parts are intact including the quartet of witch hat knobs, pickup ring, and pickguard (complete with original carved wooden finger rest). Additionally, the original chrome bridge with nylon saddles is present, and the bridge has ideal height with the stock string mute that still engages as intended. The original Cherry nitro lacquer gloss finish exhibits tight checking across the body, with one scuff through the gloss adjacent to the input jack, and an additional minor mark on the headstock face. Cosmetic wear is otherwise limited to some small shallow marks on top at the bass-side waist, and a few light finish scratches and nicks on the back and lower bout body edge.A black chipboard case is included.
