Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Super Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with two-button footswitch and slip cover. An extremely original example recently given a clean bill of health from our techs here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Super Reverb's circuit is 100% original save for one new bias capacitor.

The amp pushes 40 watts of pure Fender Black Panel clean tone via a pair of Tung Sol 6L6 power tubes. Perfect for gigging situations and an ideal recording amplifier, the amp provides pristine, muscly Fender cleans until the 4-5 range on the volume dial, where a bit of tube and speaker breakup sends the amp into smooth overdrive. The Reverb is lush and deep, and the Tremolo has a nice pulse, with everything from swampy and slow to choppy rat-a-tat pulses.

All of the original transformers are intact, manufactured by Schumacher (Fender's primary transformer supplier in the Black Panel era), dating between the 18th week of 1966 and the 19th week of '67. The preamp features all of the original blue Ajax molded capacitors, a central element of the sweet, musical character of Fender's Black Panel-era circuits. All of the original CTS pots are intact, with visible date codes from '66. The power cable has been upgraded to a modern three-prong, and the power supply still retains all of the original capacitors which function reliably and exhibit no leakage. The chassis itself is clean, as is the original faceplate and stock witch hat knobs.

The quartet of original CTS-made speakers are intact with alnico magnets, clean frames, and Fender foil stickers on the magnet bells. The speakers have date stamps on the frames from the 3rd and 31st weeks of '67. The tube chart is present inside the cabinet, with a "QD" date stamp that translates to April of 1967.

The original smooth black tolex is intact and quite well kept, as is the original silver sparkle grillcloth. Original hardware includes the nickel corners, sphinx glides (feet), chassis straps, and raised "Fender" logo. The chrome tilt-back legs show surface rust through much of the plating.

A vintage, non-original two-button footswitch is included, along with a modern slip cover.
