1967 Fender Super Reverb Black Panel Vintage Tube Amp 4x10 w/ Ftsw, CTS Alnico Speakers

Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Super Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a two-button footswitch. The amp features its original quad of alnico 10" CTS speakers, pushing 40 watts of pure Fender Black Panel clean tone via a pair of Tung Sol 6L6GC power tubes. Perfect for gigging situations and an ideal recording amplifier, the amp provides pristine, muscly Fender cleans until you hit the 4-5 range on the volume dial, where a bit of tube and speaker breakup sends the amp into smooth overdrive. The Reverb is lush and deep, and the Tremolo has a nice pulse, with everything from swampy and slow to choppy rat-a-tat pulses.The preamp is very original, retaining a bevy of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps central to the smooth, musical character of Fender's Black Panel amps. All of the original CTS pots are intact, with visible date codes from late '66. All of the original transformers are present as well, all manufactured by Schumacher, Fender's primary transformer supplier in the Black Panel era, dating between mid-1966 and early '67. The power cable has been upgraded to a modern three-prong for safety's sake, and the power supply has been professionally recapped. The chassis itself is clean, as is the original faceplate and stock witch hat knobs.The original quartet of CTS alnico speakers are intact with clean frames and original blue foil Fender stickers on the magnets. Two of the speakers have been recently professionally reconed, and the other two retain their original cones. The original speaker harness is present, and the tube chart is partially intact inside the cabinet, along with a second servicing sticker with dates from the late '70sThe original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are intact and quite well kept, and all of the original hardware is present including the nickel corners, sphinx glides (feet), chassis straps, chrome pat. pending tilt-back legs, and raised "Fender" logo. This studio-worthy vintage Super Reverb is ready for stage and studio work, serviced only as needed to ensure originality and optimal functionality.A modern replica two-button footswitch is included.
