Up for sale, a 1966 Silvertone Silhouette model 1478 in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original chipboard case. A one-owner guitar, this Harmony-made iteration of the 1478 platform features a pair of DeArmond pickups and a gloss “hand-rubbed” Red Sunburst lacquer finish.

Tonewoods include a maple body, maple neck, and bound Brazilian rosewood fretboard, and this Silhouette weighs 7lbs 2oz. The pair of DeArmond pickups deliver a wide range of tones, lively and vital at each position on the three-way pickup selector switch. There's a certain percussive cut, jangle, and surprising kick from these pickups, and the Silvertone foils really deliver the goods. Although the silver diamond inserts on the pickup covers are one of the notable cosmetic features of this model, the pickup still falls within the "gold foil" family, having identical construction to its assembly line brothers with gold metal inserts. This model 1478 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
