Up for sale, a 1966 Silvertone model 1482 tube amp in excellent condition and in perfect working order, loaded with a full vintage tube set. Manufactured by Danelectro in the USA, this amp is often referred to as the "poor man's Deluxe" for its rich gain, touch-sensitive responsiveness, and 15 watt 6V6 push/pull tube power section, features which are all very reminiscent of the Tweed-era Fender Deluxe from the late '50s. This amp really does tap into what made Fender's Tweed amps great, and at about 1/10th the price, the Silvertone 1482 is one of the best bargains on the vintage amp market. With simple controls for Volume and Tone for both the Mic and Instrument inputs, the amp also boasts a powerful bias-based tremolo circuit that has a great pulse and smooth waveform.
The point-to-point, hand-wired circuit boasts the original filter capacitors, and the dropping resistor and bias cap have been replaced. The original transformers are present, as are the CTS pots, dating to the early weeks of '66. The amp is stocked with all of its original Silvertone-branded tubes, save for one matched RCA 6V6GT replacement. The speaker is the original Fisher 12" alnico magnet driver, featuring a date code on the magnet bell from the 11th week of 1966.
The original gray thatched covering is in good shape, with light wear on the enclosure edges. The original wheat grillcloth with sparkle thread is pristine, and the aluminum faceplate retains all of the original knobs and black silkscreen text.
