Up for sale, a 1966 Rickenbacker 330/12 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original silver hardshell case. A well-kept vintage Rickenbacker with a viable neck angle and vibrant Fireglo gloss finish, this 330/12 delivers plenty of treble articulation and cut, but also a natural warmth and sonic breadth indicative of a guitar that's had decades to open up and resonate maximally. The Toaster Top alnico magnet pickups deliver plenty of sparkling cut and chime with sweet sustain and a distinct sound in every pickup position. The guitar weighs 7lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh strings, easy-playing action and accurate intonation. The three-piece maple/walnut neck has a medium C-shaped profile cave with round shoulders and rolled fretboard edges, filling the palm comfortably and fretting easily, measuring .840" at the 1st fret and .880" at the 12th. The thick slab 21 fret rosewood fretboard features original slender frets, showing only light wear on the crowns of frets 1-3. The guitar plays cleanly up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck with responsive, optimally adjusted truss rods. The nut measures 1 9/16" in width, and on the headstock, the guitar retains its lucite "Rickenbacker" truss rod cover and Kluson Deluxe double line tuning machines which work as they should and hold pitch well. All of the electronics function as intended, and everything is exactly how it was when the guitar left the Rickenbacker factory with untouched solder joints and CTS pots which date to the 19th week of 1966, while the FF-prefix serial number on the jack plate conclusively dates production to June, 1966. The hardware features bright chrome plating on R tailpiece and Toaster Top pickup covers, and the stock plastics are all in excellent shape as well. Of utmost importance on a vintage Rickenbacker 12 string, the original neck set is viable, and the bridge is not bottomed out, with elevation on both sides above the bridge baseplate. The Fireglo gloss finish highlights light bubble maple figurint across the top and back. Cosmetic wear includes an area of buckle rash central to the back, a couple tiny finish chips on the back of the bass-side body horn, and some additional small nicks and scuffs, also mostly relegated to the back. There is also localized finish chipping along the edge of the neck joint. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss, free of palm wear. The original Rickenbacker hardshell case with silver tolex, black leather ends and blue plush interior is included.
