Up for sale, a 1966 Mosrite The Ventures Model in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. The most popular and enduring instrument produced by the Bakersfield, CA-based Mosrite company, the Ventures model was a joint venture between Mosrite founder Semie Moseley and the band The Ventures. An example bridging 1965-66 features, this guitar has a unique (and original) Black top with Sunburst-finished back and neck profile, retaining the Vibramute tailpiece of the earliest Ventures models, yet also boasting circa 1966 specs including skirted M knobs and truss rod access at the headstock.

The original pair of single coil pickups meter at 10.9k ohms in the bridge position and 10.7k at the neck, delivering rich, detailed treble that's sparkling, present, and round. There's plenty of midrange emphasis, and the low end blooms and growls while retaining focus. This Mosrite weighs 8lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss nitro lacquer finish is 100% original, exhibiting extensive checking across the body. Cosmetic wear on the finish is limited to faint buckle worming on the back, a handful of scuffs and nicks along the perimeter, and a few tiny chips on the neck heel and headstock edges. The lacquer checking extends to the Sunburst gloss on the neck, with a bit of targeted touch-up along the profile shoulders from frets 1-7 where the neck binding was previously stabilized. There are also a few shallow marks on the profile length, largely worn smooth through play.

A modern Mosrite faux alligator hardshell case is included.
