Up for sale, a 1966 Gibson ES-335TDC-12 in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and factory paperwork. An absolutely stunning vintage ES-335 12 string, the articulate natural response of the instrument's semi-hollow maple body is channeled through the original Patent Sticker humbuckers.

These pickups preceded Gibson's T Tops, and the Patent Stickers were made with the same materials and wound in the same range as their PAF predecessors. In "low wind" territory and as such offering more clear, dynamic tones that more hotly wound humbuckers, these pickups are surprisingly well-suited to capturing the chime and sparkle of the 12 string design. The bridge pickup has a sweet upper midrange character and treble bounce, while engaging both pickups offers a more dry sound with excellent percussive cut and balance across the strings. The neck pickup is smooth and warm, but not lacking in detail. The guitar weighs 8lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and strung with fresh strings, accurate intonation, and low action.

The one-piece mahogany neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve  with round shoulders in every register and notable heft as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .835" deep at the 1st fret and 1.005" at the 12th. The Brazilian rosewood fretboard has small block inlay and original medium jumbo fretwire that retains its full factory height. These frets have Gibson's wide/flat '60s factory fret dress, showing only very light wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-3. The guitar plays cleanly in every register up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck and responsive, ideally adjusted truss rod. The original nylon nut measures 1 9/16" in width, and the headstock is fitted with the original set of double line Kluson Deluxe tuning machines.

All of the electronics work as they should, and both humbuckers have untouched solder on the covers and original patent stickers on the baseplates. The pickups meter at 7.47k ohms in the neck position and 7.2k ohms at the bridge. The long neck tenon is visible in the neck pickup cavity, ensuring optimal resonance. The chrome plating on the hardware is positively gleaming, including the pickup covers, ABR-1 Tune-o-Matic bridge with nylon saddles, and trapeze tailpiece. All plastic parts are near mint as well including the wide bevel pickguard and quartet of black reflector cap knobs. The orange oval Gibson Kalamazoo, MI label is also present inside the body and extremely clean.

Cosmetically, this guitar is jaw-dropping in its presentation, and the gloss Cherry nitro lacquer finish is 100% original with no touchup or overspray. Cosmetic wear is limited to just a few absolutely tiny nicks and faint finish scratches on the body, with faint lacquer checking relegated to the neck heel and back of the headstock. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.

The original hardshell case is included and equally as clean as the guitar, with a smooth black exterior, gold interior, functional original latches, original handle, and the small Gibson badge on the exterior. The pristine pickup adjustment and Tune-o-Matic bridge leaflets are also included.
