Up for sale, a 1966 Gibson ES-335 TD in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. Featuring a thinline maple body, one-piece Honduran mahogany neck and Brazilian rosewood fretboard, this ES-335 TD is authoritative and clear when strummed acoustically, and the articulate natural response of the instrument is channeled through the original Patent Sticker humbuckers.

These pickups preceded Gibson's T Tops, and the Patent Stickers were made with the same materials and wound in the same range as their PAF predecessors. The guitar offers a chiming, dynamic treble snap, midrange-rich growl, and low end that is fat yet clear. The bridge pickup has great clarity and power, highlighting the treble snap of maple as a tonewood, while the broad, airy sound of the neck pickup is further thickened by the warmth and smooth attack of the semi-hollowbody construction. The guitar weighs 7lbs 15oz, benefitting from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and strung with 11-49 strings, accurate intonation, and low action.

All of the electronics are stock, with untouched solder on the humbucker covers. Hardware includes the original ABR-1 bridge with foundry stamp on the base, as well as the stock trapeze tailpiece (chrome-plated). All of the original plastics are present, including the wide bevel pickguard, gold reflector cap knobs, and pickup rings. The pickguard shows some cupping/upward deflection, but remains out of the pick path.

The body and headstock finish is 100% original, while the neck profile has been resprayed in a high gloss lacquer extending just below the E tuning machines on the back of the peghead. While no headstock repair is visible, the lacquer is sprayed darker where one would expect a repair, and it's likely there is a shallow repair of some kind in this area.

The original body finish has aged to almost a two-tone burst on top with tight, largely vertical lacquer checking, while the Sunburst on the back retains more of the red central ring, exhibiting various finish chips, dings and scuffs. There is one small binding repair on the outside edge of the bass-side cutaway, while the resprayed high gloss on the neck profile is flawless.

A vintage, worn black tolex hardshell case is included.
