Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Vibrolux Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original footswitch. With good reason, the Vibrolux is one of the most desirable Fender Black Panel models for its ideal size and power, well-suited to both stage and studio applications.

The amp delivers sparkling cut and muscle, and a surprising amount of headroom, cascading into lightly compressed tube overdrive when pushing towards 10 on the Volume dial. Offering 35 tube watts through the original Jensen C10N speaker pair, the Vibrolux is the perfect platform for getting the most out of a variety of guitars and stompboxes. Clean and sweet up to about 5 on the Volume knob (with a perceived volume that's loud enough to keep up with an aggressive drummer), the Vibrolux has clear note attack and sweet tube rectifier sag, not to mention lush tube-driven Reverb and percussive Tremolo.

All of the transformers are original, dating to the 21st and 24th weeks of 1966, manufactured by Fender's primary transformer supplier in this era, Schumacher. The preamp has been recapped as necessary to ensure optimal performance, with a few new high quality tubular caps, retaining a number of the original blue molded Ajax caps. All of the original CTS pots are intact, with visible date codes from the 18th week of '66. The power supply has been professionally recapped, with new smaller electrolytics in the preamp as well. The tube set includes a matched pair of “Winged C” 6L6GC power tubes, a Raytheon 5AR4 rectifier, and mostly vintage valves in the preamp from the likes of GE and Westinghouse.

The Fender-branded Jensen C10N 10" speakers are the original matched pair with black frames and foil stickers on the ceramic magnets, dating to the 7th and 11th weeks of '66, and a majority of the tube chart is intact inside the cabinet.

The original smooth black tolex is intact, and the original baffle has been regrilled with vintage-spec silver sparkle grillcloth. The faceplate boasts clean graphics and the full complement of witch hat knobs, and original hardware includes the raised Fender logo, handle caps, chassis straps, corners, and sphinx glides (feet).

The original two-button footswitch is included.
