1966 Fender Super Reverb Black Panel Vintage Tube Amp 4x10 w/ Ftsw, CTS Alnico Speakers

Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Super Reverb in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original two-button footswitch. The amp features its original quad of alnico 10" CTS speakers, pushing 40 watts of pure Fender Black Panel clean tone via a pair of Groove Tubes 6L6GC power tubes. Perfect for gigging situations and an ideal recording amplifier, the amp provides pristine, muscly Fender cleans until you hit the 4-5 range on the volume dial, where a bit of tube and speaker breakup sends the amp into smooth overdrive. The Reverb is lush and deep, and the Tremolo has a nice pulse, with everything from swampy and slow to choppy rat-a-tat pulses.The preamp is very original, retaining a bevy of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps central to the smooth, musical character of Fender's Black Panel amps. All of the original CTS pots are intact, with visible date codes from early '66. All of the original transformers are present as well, all manufactured by Schumacher, Fender's primary transformer supplier in the Black Panel era, dating between the 2nd and 18th weeks of '66. The power cable has been upgraded to a modern three-prong for safety's sake, and the power supply has been professionally recapped with high quality Sprague Atoms. The chassis itself is very clean, as is the original faceplate and stock witch hat knobs.The original quartet of CTS alnico speakers are intact with very clean frames and original blue foil Fender stickers on the magnets. The original speaker harness is present, as is the tube chart which has a PH date stamp, translating to August of 1966.The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are notably clean, and all of the original hardware is well-kept including the nickel corners, sphinx glides (feet), chassis straps, chrome pat. pending tilt-back legs, and raised "Fender" logo. This studio-worthy vintage Super Reverb is ready for stage and studio work, serviced only as needed to ensure originality and optimal functionality.The original two-button footswitch is included.
