Up for sale, a 1965 Mosrite Ventures Model bass in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case.  A vintage USA-made Mosrite crafted in Bakersfield, CA, this short scale bass boasts early Ventures Model specs including the Sunburst-finished neck and headstock face, larger Ventures headstock logo, clover button tuners, smooth (non-embossed) pickup covers, and neck bolts hidden beneath the decorative kidney neck plate.

Tonewoods include a basswood body, maple neck, and bound Brazilian rosewood fretboard, and this bass has a 30 1/2" scale length. The original pair of pickups yield tons of warm, rumbling thump, midrange thickness and punch, and smooth growl accentuated by a fresh set of 45-100 roundwound strings. This Mosrite weighs 8lbs 5oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with easy-playing action and accurate intonation.

The original Sunburst gloss nitro lacquer finish exhibits prominent lacquer checking, some diffusion of the finish on the top of the bass, and some touched-up finish chips in the black of Sunburst. The back retains a richer central ring of red on the burst, with buckle rash central to the back, some scuffing on the bass side of the pick path and various dings and scuffs consistent with honest use.

The original alligator tolex hardshell case is included, with brown leather ends, functional latches and the original handle.
