Out Of Stock
Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Super Reverb in collector-grade condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original footswitch and Victoria Luggage slip cover. This amp has been exceedingly well cared for over the past nearly 60 years, and hails from the second full year of production, retaining the stock quartet of desirable ceramic magnet speakers. Perfect for gigging situations and an ideal recording amplifier, the amp provides pristine Fender cleans and ideal headroom, cascading into smooth tube overdrive midway up the Volume dial. The Reverb is lush and deep, and the Tremolo offers everything from swampy and slow to choppy and fast pulses.

The circuit is extremely original, with all of the coveted blue molded Ajax tone caps intact in the preamp, an essential part of the sweet, musical nature of the Black Panel circuits. The original Schumacher transformers feature date codes from 1965, and all of the original CTS and Stackpole pots are present, with visible date codes from the 20th week of '65. The power supply has been professionally recapped with Sprague Atom capacitors, and the preamp features new smaller Sprague electrolytics as well, ensuring optimal performance. A three-prong power cable has been installed too. The tube complement includes a matched pair of 6L6GC power tubes, with a vintage GE 5AR4 rectifier, and a combination of modern and vintage valves in the preamp from the likes of RCA and Amperex.

In terms of the speakers, the amp boasts its original ceramic magnet CTS quad with practically pristine black frames and clean blue foil Fender labels. More balanced and full-sounding particularly in the bass register than the alnico speakers more commonly seen in a Super Reverb, these CTS ceramic drivers perfectly capture the nuance, sparkle, and power of the AB763 circuit. Inside the cab, the original tube chart is present as well, with an "OJ" date stamp which translates to October of 1965.

The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are stunningly well-kept, with sparingly little aging of the grillcloth and plenty of sparkle in the thread. The faceplate is notably clean, with all of the original witch hat knobs. The original nickel corners, sphinx glides (feet), chassis straps, chrome tilt-back legs, and raised "Fender" logo are present too, and all hardware is in excellent shape.

The original two-button Reverb/Tremolo footswitch is included (the two switches themselves have been replaced), and the original Victoria Luggage cover is present too. The cover has some modest tears around the handle cutout and is otherwise in good shape, with the silver "Fender Super Reverb" text intact.
