Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This amp combines the chassis from a 1965 Deluxe Reverb with a genuine vintage loaded Deluxe Reverb speaker cabinet circa 1970. Widely considered to be one of the greatest tube amps of all time, this Deluxe Reverb is a well-kept and professionally serviced example. Stocked with a matched pair of JJ 6V6 power tubes, the Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp offers the top end sparkle and clarity characteristic of the best amps from Fender's Black Panel era, a perfect platform for a host of effects pedals. Turning up past 4 on the Volume dial, the amp begins to push into overdrive territory with light compression and plenty of bark and body. The Reverb is lush with long decay, and the Tremolo has a strong pulse with an almost three-dimensional quality to the effect when you increase the intensity. The circuit retains its original Schumacher-made power transformer, reverb transformer and choke, all dating to 1965, while the output transformer is a genuine Schumacher/Fender transformer as well, dating to 1976. The preamp has some smaller modern capacitors to ensure optimal functionality, while the majority of the original blue molded Ajax capacitors are intact, central to the sweet, musical character of the Black Panel amps. The Volume pots on both channels are modern replacements, while the rest of the original CTS pots are intact , with visible date codes from the 20th week of 1965. The power supply has been professionally recapped with high quality Sprague Atom filter caps, and a three-prong cable has been installed. The tube complement includes JJ 6V6 power tubes, a vintage RCA rectifier, and a combination of vintage JAN 12AT7s and modern Mullard 12AX7s in the preamp. The speaker is era correct for the cabinet, manufactured by Utah with a clean black frame, Fender blue foil label on the ceramic magnet, and date stamp on the edge of its frame from the 42nd week of '71. Inside the cabinet, the original tube chart is fully intact too and very clean. The cabinet also has the more desirable screw-in baffle consistent with Black Panel era production (and the earliest Silverface amps). The cabinet retains its original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with turquoise stripe, both of which are well-kept. Hardware includes the original handle caps, chassis straps, sphinx glides (feet), and raised Fender logo, and the faceplate is quite clean with a full complement of vintage witch hat knobs.A vintage Silverface-era two-button Reverb/Vibrato footswitch is included, along with a modern Fender-branded slip cover.
