Up for sale, a 1965 Danelectro Cadet Model 123 tube amplifier in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, this USA-made amp hails from the final year of this model’s production, delivering six watts of classic tube tone with warm, compressed cleans that break up nicely into rich, natural overdrive when turning up the Volume dial.
The circuit is completely original, with stock capacitors in the preamp and power supply. The original transformer is present, dating to the 14th week of 1965. The original CTS pots date to the 10th and 15th weeks of ‘65, and the original two-prong power cable is intact. The tube complement includes a vintage Sylvania 35W4 rectifier and 50C5 power tube, with a Zenith 12AU6 valve in the preamp. The speaker is the original 6” Fisher Alnico magnet driver, featuring a date code on the magnet bell from the 18th week of 1965.
The original gray covering has just a few minor marks on the enclosure, and the grillcloth is clean. The plexi Danelectro logo is present, and the cardboard back panel is exceptionally well-kept, with pristine graphics, the original knob set, and individual portholes for each tube.
