1964 Harmony H59 Rocket Vintage Guitar 100% Original & Near Mint, DeArmond Gold Foils

Up for sale, a 1964 Harmony H59 Rocket in collector-grade, 100% original condition and perfect working order. Stunningly well-kept and complete with the original equally pristine chipboard case, this USA-made Harmony is the top-tier model in the Rocket family featuring a fully hollow body and vibrant nitro lacquer two-tone Sunburst finish with a trio of DeArmond Gold Foil "Golden Tone" pickups at its heart. Given the maple body construction, this guitar has an acoustic sound with plenty of natural top end cut, balanced with the warmth and smooth attack of a fully hollow body.There's really nothing that can match the balance, clarity, and overall tonal character of original DeArmond Gold Foil pickups. They have a percussive snap and twang, tight bass, and a rich midrange that sounds great when each pickup is singled out or when paired together. All three pickups have strong output, and each setting on the four way rotary pickup selector switch is distinct. Featherweight at 6lbs 4oz, this guitar has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and strung with 11-50 strings.The maple neck has a very substantial U-shaped profile carve with generous shoulder. It’s a hearty handful, measuring .960” at the 1st fret and .980” at the 12th. The dyed maple fretboard boasts the original fretwire, which retains its full factory height with zero wear and perfectly rounded crowns. The guitar plays cleanly all the way to the last fret, and the scale length measures 24 1/4". The original bone nut measures a full 1 3/4“ in width. On the headstock, the white Harmony and Rocket silkscreen logos are nigh flawless,, and the original open gear strip tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch well with original white buttons.On the body, all of the electronics work as they should, with original cream cupcake Volume and Tone knobs for each pickup that follow the contour of the lower bout of the body, paired with a four-way rotary pickup selector switch. The knobs are bright and clean with practically pristine gold silkscreen text, and the Harmony silkscreen on the pickguard is equally as well preserved. All of the original hardware is intact including the three Brazilian rosewood pickup risers, rosewood bridge, and nickel trapeze tailpiece. The chrome plating on the pickup covers is positively gleaming. All three of the pickups have their original gold Rowe Industries (parent company of DeArmond) stickers on the baseplates too, with matching date stamps from September 24th, 1964. Visible through the F hole on the body, the original Fall, 1964 date stamp and H59 model designation stamp are present and bold.The original nitro lacquer finish is vibrant and striking, with cosmetic wear limited to a few faint scuffs and a touch of greening in the finish central to the lower bout on the back from contact with the blue case lining (blue case + yellow sunburst = green).The original gray chipboard case is included and equally as clean as the guitar with original latches that spring open and the stock handle.
