Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Jazzmaster in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This Jazzmaster features a body-only refinish in Olympic White nitro lacquer, retaining the original electronics, hardware, and plastics.

Weighing 7lbs 8oz, this Pre-CBS Fender has a clear, lively natural acoustic quality. The original gray bobbin single coils meter at 8.30k ohms in the bridge position and 7.82k at the neck, and the bridge pickup features the small yellow dated ink stamp only seen on the first gray bobbin examples in ‘64. The bridge pickup has a sparkling snap and rich, midrange-forward cut, while the neck pickup is exceptionally broad and warm, almost humbucker-esque in its fullness and potency, retaining fantastic definition. The Rhythm Circuit on the lower body horn has a sound that's round and sweet, working as a great thickening agent for pushing a tube amp or fuzz box. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, where we specialize in Fender Offset instruments, this Jazzmaster has been dialed in with 11-49 roundwound strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss nitro lacquer Olympic White body-only refinish has its fair share of natural playwear (no artificial relic’ing) including limited vertical checking, buckle rash central to the back and various nicks and dings, and there are two extra doweled strap button mounting holes on the bass-side horn. The original nitro gloss on the neck profile has been worn to the smooth, bare maple for a flawless uniform satin feel.

The original brown tolex hardshell case is included, technically pre-dating the guitar, as this case was mostly in use from 1962-63. The case shows signs of use, yet is structurally sound, retaining its original latches and handle (partially taped over).
