Up for sale, a 1963 Fender Tube Reverb Unit in time capsule-clean, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A jaw-dropping example, nigh flawless in its presentation, this outboard effect boasts one of the Reverb Unit's rarest cosmetic combinations with smooth blonde tolex, wheat grillcloth with a raised Fender logo, and cream barrel knobs on the Black Panel faceplate. This Pre-CBS all tube design delivers lush and detailed spring reverb, outfitted with the original RCA tube set. With controls for Dwell, Mix, and Tone, it's easy to dial in the perfect amount of splash and sparkle, and this classic Fender effect simply goes in-line between your guitar and amp.
The circuit is untouched, with the famed blue Ajax and yellow Astron capacitors in the preamp and stock Schumacher-made transformers that date between the 25th and 29th weeks of '63. The main filter caps are surprisingly still intact and functioning as they should (also featuring individual date stamps from the 48th week of '63) , and all of the original Stackpole pots are intact too, with date codes from the 39th week of '63. The Accutronics two-spring tank is original with a date stamp from the 39th week of '63, and the stock RCA cables with braided leads connect to the circuit. The tube chart is also fully intact inside the cabinet with unfaded paper and crisp corners.
The cabinet retains the original smooth blonde tolex and wheat grillcloth, both of which are practically perfect save for one small snag in the grillcloth beneath the Fender logo. The faceplate graphics are pristine, complete with the trio of original cream barrel knobs, and the dark brown flat handle has minty nickel caps.
